Public placesPublic places are places designated for public use or which are in reality generally used by the public, regardless of the ownership of the place. Typical public places are public roads and streets, pavements, market squares, parks, beaches, sport fields, cemeteries, public buildings, means of public transport, government offices, other office premises and restaurants. Outside the definition of public places are domestic premises. Such premises are homes, holiday homes and other residential premises under the Penal Code, including hotel rooms, tents, caravans and houseboats, and the staircases of residential blocks and residents' private courtyards as well as the buildings directly connected with them.
